Love Is A Gamble

I want to write a poem
To express the pain I feel
But I just can't seem to find the words
To help my heart to heal

I feel so broken down inside
I feel so tired out
And so completely exhausted
From all your fears and doubts

You will not say forever
For forever is too long
You cannot say I love you
For you love seems wrong

You don't know what you want
You're afraid and insecure
You just don't want to think
So you're never ever sure

Love might be a scary word
But my heart feels no fear
Because my heart feels only peace
Whenever you are near

I've tried to make you see the light
I've tried to make you see what's right

But since you'd rather leave than stay
It's time that I too walked away

So I am moving on
I'm not waiting anymore
I'm putting you behind me
It's time I closed the door

I thought I couldn't do it
I couldn't live without you
But now I see the light
Now I see the truth
And I realize now
I'm better without you

The relationship is over
I loved and I lost
I gave my heart completely
I wonder at what cost

Let's think for a moment
And consider the price
For Love is a gamble
A roll of the dice

Sometimes you win big
Sometimes you lose bad
It can bring joy and bliss
Then leave you lonely and sad

I hope one day
You'll open your heart
Allow Love in your life
And make a fresh start

A life without Love
May be a life without pain
But a life with no hurt
Is a life without gain

So while Love is a gamble
A roll of the dice
It's the only real choice
For a truly lived life

So I loved and I lost
But really I won
My soul has been cleansed
And now I'm done

With you that is.

I LOVE

I LOVE
It's What I do

I LOVE
Strong

I LOVE
Whole

I LOVE
Deep

I LOVE
True

I LOVE
I'm in love with you

Your Silent Love

When I look at your eyes
When they're looking at me
It's a look of love
The look that I see

I know that you love me
Just as I love you
Your eyes tell me everything
If your words never do

Your love may be silent
While mine screams loud
Your love feels shy
While mine stands proud

But it's all alright
Your love and mine
They're so very different
And that's just fine

About a Boy

Written in 1996

When we met
I fell for you
When I got up
You were gone
Getting up
Was far more painful
Than falling
